Thank you to everyone who participated in The 5th Annual Warmth of Wine at the Century House on Thursday, February 25, 2010.

Whether you were an attendee, a sponsor, donated an auction item, donated wine, volunteered to pour wine or sell raffle tickets, or even if you bid on a live auction item and didn’t win . . . each and every one of you helped make this the most successful Warmth of Wine EVER!

Thank you for helping to raise over $35,000 for seniors struggling to pay their heating bills or repair outdated heating systems.

Thank you again to our wonderful wine tasting donors . . . Exit 9 Wine & Liquor Warehouse, Empire Wine, and Joseph Carr Wine!

And thank you again to our generous sponsors . . . Capital Communications FCU, SEFCU, The Century House, the Times Union, 99.5 The River, Fox23 News, and Spotlight Newspapers!

Thank you for making such a positive difference in the lives of seniors in our community.

Thank you for making it possible for Colonie Senior Service Centers and Umbrella of Colonie to provide seniors the comfort of a warm, safe home and peace of mind that their heat will not be turned off.

Letters have gone out to hundreds of seniors who may need help and to dozens of organizations in our community network of friends including faith-based organizations, town departments, civic and fraternal organizations and senior clubs.

These groups and organizations are an important source of information, support and companionship for seniors. Undoubtedly, they know of seniors in need of help and may be the first to become aware that a senior is struggling to heat their home.

If you know of a senior in need, please make them aware of this Heating Assistance Fund. They can contact us at 459-7132.
