Umbrella of Colonie is a service of Colonie Senior Service Centers that gives elderly homeowners a chance to remain in their own homes by connecting them with reliable, affordable handypersons who perform minor home repairs and maintenance at a very affordable rate.

More Than Home Maintenance

For homeowners who need just a little help, Umbrella of Colonie can be just the help you need. It might be tending to the yard, getting to the store, cleaning the garage or any one of the myriad of chores it takes to keep your home running safely and smoothly.

In an emergency, help can be just a phone call away with our 24-hour answer-phone line; helping to correct the problem in a timely manner.

Umbrella handymen are also alert to potential fire and safety hazards in the home and can suggest ways to eliminate them. Modifications can be as simple as removing items stored for years on the basement steps, using higher-wattage bulbs or installing railings or grab-bars where needed.

  • Comprehensive home inspection: a 17-point inspection that examines heating, cooling, electric & plumbing
