After two fractures and a diagnosis of osteoporosis . . . “I began osteo class twice a week and now attend once a week. My diagnosis is now osteopenia! I also continue watching nutrition and eat 5 fruits & veggies/day, less meat, etc. I really put a lot of emphasis on the classes at Beltrone center. I do feel better and health-wise my Dr. approves of what I am doing and has told me to continue. – LG (senior participant)
“I feel it important for me to tell you how much I have benefitted from the leader’s instruction and patience. I came to class a woman in tremendous pain. There are those in the class who hope to prevent osteoporosis. I have it badly. There were a few days that I was barely able to walk into class. With the patience and encouragement of the leaders to do what exercises I could; I walked out of class feeling fine. To me it is amazing that lifting weights and moving the arms and legs, that at the end of the hour and half I can be without pain. Because of the condition of my back, I am not permitted physical therapy, massage or anything other than this exercise program. I have benefited from it greatly. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. – PN (senior participant)

“Thanks to all the programs offered by CSSC, I’m a very active, healthy senior. Twice a week I join about twenty other seniors at Colonie Center to walk, after our walk we exercise for about twenty minutes. Once a week for one hour I line dance. At Beltrone on Thursday I tap dance with the Timeless Tappers!” – JR
“Words cannot express my appreciation for everything that you did for my Mom. When she found the senior center – she essentially found her life – her reason for living. She loved to donate her time – and tap dancing. I am forever grateful!” -NB
