Since 2006, the Warmth of Wine has raised over $200,000 to help local seniors on fixed incomes with the ever-increasing cost of heating their homes in winter. The Warmth of Wine is a spectacular wine tasting event with live and silent auctions, raffles, and an exciting mystery wine pull!

The Mother’s Day Fashion Show and Luncheon benefits our Transportation Services for seniors. A fun event that makes it possible for seniors to access affordable, reliable transportation to maintain their independence and self-sufficiency.

One of the longest running golf fundraisers in the Capital Region, the Salvatore R. Beltrone Annual Golf Classic is played at the prestigious Schuyler Meadows Club in Loudonville. Well known as a premier golf courses in the area, avid golfers looks forward to a day on the links at this private club. All proceeds go directly to programs and services for seniors and their families provided by Colonie Senior Service Centers.

Our final fundraising event of the year recognizes those individuals and community leaders who demonstrate our mission through their support and actions. Each year the awardees selected exemplify the commitment, vision, and leadership of our Founders during the formative stages of the organization. Those honored have helped make Colonie a service-rich community for seniors, and those who will soon become seniors! This is an exciting event for Colonie and for seniors in the Capital Region.

Colonie Senior Service Centers is honored to recognize their 300 dedicated volunteers that are essential to CSSC being able to provide our many programs and services. CSSC staff members are privileged to serve dinner to these devoted volunteers.

As the spring begins to show herself in the Capital Region, Umbrella of Colonie hosts a Home Maintenance Fair to help senior homeowners get their homes and yards in shape for the summer months. Seminars from experts offer tips on home repair, painting, weatherization, avoiding home repair scams, and more. Umbrella of Colonie members and handymen are on hand to answer questions about Umbrella of Colonie and among the many door prizes is a one-year Umbrella of Colonie membership!

Every June, Colonie Senior Service Centers and the Town of Colonie Senior Resource Department team up to present Summerfest! Summerfest is great fun for the whole family and features a performance by the Colonie Town Band. It’s a great way for our residents, volunteers, community members, and friends to come together to enjoy a nice summer evening on the Lakeview Terrace.

On behalf of the senior population we serve, Colonie Senior Service Centers hosts this patriotic event to recognize the dedicated members of Colonie’s Police, Fire, and EMS Departments, the Albany County Sheriff’s Department and those in all branches of the military. It is our way of thanking them for keeping us safe 24/7/365.

During the week of Veterans’ Day, we say “thank you” to our many proud veterans who have served in the United States Military. The patriotic luncheon is free to Veterans who are honored with a gift from Colonie Senior Service Centers and the Joseph E. Zaloga Post 1564.

Bright Horizons recognizes the caregivers of our members, and all caregivers, during National Family Caregivers Month. We know how difficult the challenges and issues surrounding caregiving can be. The Thanks for Giving party brings together the caregivers and families of our members so that we can give back and recognize the wonderful caregivers who entrust us with their loved ones every day.
